Project Quality Coordinator (SMP)

About the role

The Project Quality Coordinator (SMP) will support the Project Manager in delivering high‑quality mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and civil works on a FIFO roster to Newman. You will act as an independent quality resource, driving continuous improvement of quality systems and ensuring compliance across all project activities.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and improve project quality systems and initiatives.
• Perform inspections, coordinate Manufacturing Data Records (MDR) collation and approvals.
• Manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), witness points, hold points and formal sign‑offs.
• Complete Inspection Test Records (ITRs) in line with approved ITPs and matrices.
• Identify, document, investigate and close out Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) with clients.
• Monitor supplier and subcontractor quality performance and escalate issues.
• Maintain traceability systems and produce timely quality reports.
• Support quality audits, documentation reviews and deliverables approval.
• Facilitate use of MCATS, WTS and Cintellate tools.
• Capture lessons learned and feed improvements back to Divisional Quality.
• Manage calibration and readiness of inspection and testing equipment.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in construction or mining quality coordination.
• Strong ability to work independently in high‑pressure environments.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work on a 2:1 FIFO roster.

Required skills

• Welding inspection certification (e.g., CSWIP 3.1 or CWI).
• Familiarity with MCATS, WTS and Cintellate systems.
• Experience with ITPs, ITRs, MDRs and NCR management.
