Project Manager / Senior Project Manager – Data Centers

About the role

Turner & Townsend is seeking experienced project delivery professionals to join its Melbourne team as it expands its data centre portfolio across the region. You will act as the primary client interface, leading complex projects from design through construction and post‑project review.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex data centre projects and programmes, developing strong client relationships.
• Oversee design processes, ensuring client requirements are met and expectations managed.
• Review project plans, specifications, schedules and cost‑saving measures, identifying risks and construction issues.
• Manage project safety, environmental compliance, timelines, budgets and reporting.
• Coordinate vendor scopes, draft contract documents using approved templates, and support marketing and business development initiatives.

Required profile

• Professional or tertiary qualification in project management, engineering or construction.
• 5–10 years of project management experience, preferably in data centres or similar technical environments.
• Thorough understanding of the full project life‑cycle from inception to post‑completion review.
• Strong communication, conflict resolution and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English with strong report and bid writing skills.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of data centre infrastructure: HVAC, electrical systems, generators, fire protection, security and BMS.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills; Primavera experience highly regarded.
• Proficiency with core project management concepts, tools and techniques.
