Project Manager - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples

About the role

Aurecon is looking for experienced project managers to join its Project Delivery Services (PDS) team, supporting the delivery of projects for Defence across Australia. As a Project Manager you will take ownership of allocated projects and work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, on-time, on-budget results to the required quality standards. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage projects from planning through to delivery, meeting scope, cost, schedule and quality requirements.
• Coordinate Aurecon resources, consultants and contractors, and build relationships with clients, Defence representatives and other stakeholders.
• Manage project risks, issues, variations, budgets, schedules, documentation and quality requirements.
• Promote safety, maintain clear project communication and contribute to continuous improvement and lessons learnt.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification or demonstrated relevant professional experience such as coordinating people, projects, programs, events or community initiatives.
• Experience managing small to medium-sized projects.
• Experience leading people, coordinating activities, working with community, supporting projects or engaging stakeholders; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates with experience in community initiatives, cultural programs, event coordination or project leadership are particularly encouraged to apply.
• Commitment to safety and WHS.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary, matrix environment.

Required skills

• Project management, leadership and stakeholder management.
• Project controls, including cost and schedule management.
• Understanding of quality assurance, risk management and contract management.
• Project management certification or professional recognition is desirable; Defence experience is desirable but not essential.
