Project Engineer – Water & Wastewater (Adelaide)

About the role

We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our Adelaide team, delivering innovative water and wastewater treatment solutions for industrial and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will apply their electrical or mechanical engineering background to drive projects from concept through to installation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop concept designs, detailed engineering drawings and 3D models for treatment systems.
• Manage engineering projects through all phases, including budgeting, scheduling and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with internal multidisciplinary teams, suppliers and manufacturing partners.
• Liaise with fabrication and construction providers to ensure accurate delivery of equipment.
• Prepare and maintain technical reports, project records and BOMs within the MRP system.
• Support assembly, testing and commissioning activities as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in project, design or process engineering within water, wastewater, utilities or related industrial sectors.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven ability to manage project timelines, budgets and documentation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Understanding of electrical engineering principles.
• Experience with pumps, piping, valves, tanks and treatment equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software.
• Creation and maintenance of BOMs in an MRP system.
• Familiarity with fabricated equipment, sheet‑metal and skid‑based systems (beneficial).
