Project Engineer / Project Manager – EPC Projects

About the role

EMTek, a multidisciplinary engineering company serving the resources and minerals processing, infrastructure, power and renewables and decarbonisation sectors, is looking for a self-sufficient Project Engineer or Project Manager for its Brisbane team. The role manages and delivers EPC projects and multidiscipline engineering and design projects from initiation through completion, working with clients, engineers and designers across commodities and project types.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multidiscipline engineering and EPC projects from start to finish, within scope, budget and schedule
• Support or lead end-to-end EPC delivery, including engineering, procurement and construction, contractor packages, vendor engagement, procurement scheduling and site handover to operations
• Develop project scopes, proposals and execution plans with technical and management teams
• Oversee project controls such as progress tracking, planning and scheduling
• Coordinate design and procurement across electrical, mechanical, civil, instrumentation and process disciplines
• Facilitate design and safety reviews against EMTek standards, client specifications and Australian codes
• Prepare and review technical documentation
• Engage clients, suppliers and stakeholders and contribute to continual improvement, mentoring junior team members
• Conduct site visits, oversee contractors, site safety and commissioning, and represent EMtek throughout the project lifecycle

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering
• At least 10 years delivering multidiscipline engineering and/or EPC projects in a consultancy environment in the resources or mining sectors
• Detailed design delivery experience: coordinating a multidiscipline design team, owning the deliverables register, design budget and hours, running risk assessments and model design reviews, and issuing deliverables to a client
• Exposure to both greenfield and brownfield projects
• Understanding of multidiscipline engineering design principles; multi-disciplinary design experience desirable
• Experience or exposure to project controls, scheduling, financial management, contract administration, construction management and procurement and package management
