Project Engineer – Major Projects

About the role

Alfabs is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join its Site Services team in Parramatta. The role bridges engineering, fabrication and construction, ensuring designs become practical, buildable solutions across major infrastructure projects. You will work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers and site teams from planning through to execution.

Key responsibilities

• Own on‑site and off‑site technical requirements for assigned projects.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and client requirements.
• Develop and coordinate shop drawings, construction methodologies, ITPs and quality documentation.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Supervisors to create buildable installation solutions.
• Provide technical support and resolve engineering and construction issues throughout delivery.

Required profile

• University degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
• 5–8 years’ experience as a Project Engineer in a comparable organisation.
• Proven site‑based experience in industrial or heavy‑industry environments.
• Strong understanding of safety standards and quality requirements.
• Current driver’s licence and excellent written communication skills.
