Production Shift Operator

About the role

Coogee is looking for an experienced Production Shift Operator to join its manufacturing team on a permanent, full‑time basis. The role involves safely running the chemical production plant, meeting output targets, maintaining product quality, and adhering to strict safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor plant equipment safely in line with procedures, standards and permits.
• Maintain product quality by following operating instructions and performing routine process checks.
• Identify, report and respond to equipment or process abnormalities to minimise downtime.
• Participate in safety activities such as Toolbox Meetings, Take‑5s, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Carry out housekeeping to keep the workplace clean, organised and safe.
• Load, unload and handle raw materials and finished products using forklifts and other mobile equipment.
• Complete production records, logs and documentation accurately and promptly.
• Support maintenance activities, including equipment isolation and return‑to‑service tasks.
• Contribute ideas to continuous‑improvement initiatives aimed at safety, reliability and productivity.

Required profile

• Strong safety focus with the ability to identify hazards and manage risks.
• Team‑player who communicates clearly and supports colleagues.
• Mechanically minded problem‑solver with practical aptitude.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and adaptable to changing priorities.
• Experience in manufacturing, chemical processing, mining, utilities or similar industrial environments.
• Forklift licence and experience with mobile equipment; process plant operations qualifications are a plus.
