Production Operator – Day or Afternoon Shift

About the role

We are looking for Production Operators to join our Smithfield site in Sydney on either the Day or Afternoon shift. In this hands‑on role you will work with a variety of production processes and equipment to complete daily manufacturing batches while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture products safely, accurately and efficiently according to production instructions and quality standards.
• Read and follow formulas, bills of materials and manufacturing instructions.
• Operate designated equipment such as blending, batching, mixing, packaging, filtering, heating and compounding systems.
• Load raw materials and intermediates into production equipment.
• Complete production records and maintain documentation.
• Assist with troubleshooting and problem‑solving during production runs.
• Perform in‑process quality checks and report any deviations.
• Prepare products for packaging and shipment.
• Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic work environment.
• Work in compliance with GMP, HACCP, food safety, hygiene, environmental and safety standards.
• Participate in Lean and continuous‑improvement activities.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in flavour, ingredient, food or chemical manufacturing.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately.
• Proactive, team‑oriented attitude with good problem‑solving skills.
• Willingness to learn and improve.
• Forklift licence or operating experience (preferred).

Required skills

• Operation of production equipment (blending, batching, mixing, packaging, filtering, heating, compounding).
• Forklift operation.
• Manual handling of materials.
