Production Coordinator

About the role

Tank Vision is a Sydney-based manufacturer of commercial and industrial water storage tanks, supplying the commercial, healthcare, industrial, transport and data centre sectors across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Coordinator is the central link between the factory, warehouse, procurement, project managers and transport providers, ensuring materials are where they need to be and every tank leaves the factory and arrives on site, full and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the production schedule with the Production Manager, tracking each job through fabrication, galvanising and dispatch
• Arrange transport for supplier pickups, incoming materials and finished tanks, including oversize loads, permits and escorts
• Prepare delivery documentation for drivers and run pre-dispatch checks so every load leaves complete and protected
• Ensure transport meets Chain of Responsibility requirements, including load restraint and mass and dimension limits
• Confirm delivery windows, site access and inductions with clients, site contacts and the installation team
• Raise purchase orders in SIMPRO for galvanising, transport, consumables and stock, and follow up on progress and delivery dates
• Receive inward goods and resolve wrong, missing or damaged items with suppliers and carriers
• Coordinate freight forwarders and export paperwork for New Zealand and Pacific Islands shipments
• Allocate transport costs to projects and give transport pricing to the Sales team
• Prepare job packs for the fabrication team and issue a weekly delivery and dispatch schedule

Required profile

• Experience coordinating production, logistics, warehouse or purchasing in a manufacturing or construction environment
• Highly organised, with strong time management and the ability to handle changing priorities and urgent requests
• Able to read technical drawings
• Clear communicator who builds good working relationships with drivers, suppliers and internal teams
• Sharp attention to detail when checking orders, deliveries and paperwork
• Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility, sheet metal or welding is advantageous
• Forklift licence desirable

Required skills

• Strong computer skills, including Excel
• Experience with SIMPRO or a similar ERP system is desirable
