Product Specialist – Health & Biosciences

About the role

IFF, a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients and health & biosciences, is looking for a Product Specialist to join its Health & Biosciences team. The role can be based in Chatswood, Sydney (Zenith Centre) or Madison, Wisconsin, USA, on a hybrid basis, and supports key business initiatives across Oceania and ASEAN. You will coordinate customer projects and guide products through commercialization, change management and lifecycle support.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate customer projects across commercialization, product change management and lifecycle support, ensuring clear ownership and visibility.
• Gather information to assess customer opportunities, feasibility, prioritization, risks and success factors for the Oceania and ASEAN sub-regional leads and sales team.
• Partner with Product Development, Contract Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality and Food Safety, and Regulatory teams on formulations, samples, packaging proposals, tolling options and quality or regulatory issues.
• Initiate and oversee workflows for new stock keeping units, including timelines, dependencies, risks and cross-functional deliverables.
• Support new raw material approvals, product setup, purchasing specifications and system setup in SAP, PriceForce and product description platforms with Quality and Food Safety teams.
• Manage artwork changes for finished stock keeping units, including customer approvals, internal reviews, transition timing and obsolete packaging.
• Oversee modifications to existing stock keeping units, from change requests to implementation support.
• Manage customer special requests for product information and samples, and support innovation projects and performance metrics.
• Coordinate IFF Probiotic site visits, back up other Product Specialists and travel occasionally to trade shows, customer sites and tolling partners.

Required profile

• Experience in R&D, project management, business development, marketing, sales, quality assurance or a similar function.
• Demonstrated project management experience, handling short- and long-term projects with strong follow-through.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple customer projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical, marketing, business, science or related field, with up to 20% travel.
• Nice to have: probiotics, dietary supplements, food ingredients or pediatric nutrition experience; Six Sigma, Lean or similar continuous improvement experience.

Required skills

• SAP or a similar ERP system, and strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Risk assessment, stakeholder management and attention to detail.
