Procurement & Technical Service Delivery Manager

About the role
We are seeking a Procurement Manager / Technical Service Delivery Manager to lead the transition of approved school software products into a live, Department‑managed service for Victorian government schools. This 12‑month contract role is hybrid, based in Melbourne CBD, and supports the School Software Panel initiative.
Key responsibilities
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships.
- Strategic sourcing and supplier management.
- Coordinate technical service transition activities to operationalise approved school software products within the School Software Panel.
- Review supplier technical documentation, product responses and implementation information against Department requirements.
- Map product capabilities to service requirements and identify gaps, constraints, assumptions and dependencies.
- Work with suppliers and internal teams to coordinate technical onboarding, product configuration and operational setup activities.
- Identify and manage technical gaps, implementation risks, integration dependencies and readiness issues that may impact product availability, school adoption, service consistency or future catalogue expansion.
- Develop and maintain technical onboarding artefacts, readiness checklists, service transition materials, process maps and guidance documentation.
Required profile
- End‑to‑end procurement process management experience.
- Vendor management expertise.
- Demonstrated experience in technical service delivery, technical onboarding, solution readiness, implementation support or service transition in a technology, digital services or SaaS environment.
- Proven ability to review technical documentation, validate requirements and translate technical information into practical service readiness actions.
- Strong understanding of non‑functional requirements such as information security, privacy, data handling, accessibility, availability, incident management, support and service performance.
- Ability to coordinate complex technical activities across multiple suppliers, internal teams, workstreams and dependencies.
- Capability in planning, governance, risk and issue management, readiness reporting and stakeholder communication.
