Private Client Tax Director or Partner

About the role

A Big 4 accounting firm in Brisbane is recruiting a Private Client Tax Director or Partner to join one of Australia's largest Private Client Tax practices. The role suits ambitious tax professionals from mid-tier or large firms who want broader technical and commercial advisory experience and a genuine pathway to partnership. You will work alongside a leading Brisbane Private Client Tax Partner with a substantial fee base and an extensive background in corporate taxation.

Key responsibilities

• Advise a diverse portfolio of privately owned businesses, large family groups and subsidiaries of multinational corporations
• Provide sophisticated taxation advice to private businesses, corporate groups and high-net-worth clients
• Advise on complex tax structures, corporate restructures and business transactions
• Provide strategic tax planning, structuring and advisory services
• Work on mergers, acquisitions, business sales and succession planning
• Manage and develop relationships with significant private business clients
• Collaborate with Big 4 specialists across corporate tax, transactions, legal and other advisory disciplines
• Lead and mentor professional teams while contributing to business development and practice growth

Required profile

• Significant experience in private client taxation or corporate tax within a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm
• Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation, particularly corporate and private business taxation
• Experience advising substantial privately owned businesses and complex corporate structures
• Exposure to tax structuring, restructures, transactions and strategic advisory assignments
• Strong commercial acumen, client relationship management and business development capabilities
• Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing professional teams
• CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualifications
