Principal Legal Knowledge Officer

About the role

The Northern Territory Director of Public Prosecutions is seeking an experienced criminal lawyer to lead the creation of a centralised legal knowledge hub. Reporting directly to the DPP, you will curate and digitise precedent submissions, legal authorities, case summaries, CPD materials and guidance resources to support prosecutors across the Territory.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, review and curate legal resources from across the DPP office.
• Design and maintain a practical, accessible digital knowledge repository.
• Ensure the hub promotes consistency, efficiency and excellence in prosecutorial practice.
• Work autonomously while collaborating with senior legal staff.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with substantial experience in criminal law and evidence law.
• Strong analytical abilities and excellent legal research and writing skills.
• Sound judgment to assess relevance, quality and ongoing value of legal materials.
• Willingness to work without court appearances, focusing on knowledge management.

• Competitive salary $152,751‑$166,487 per year (inclusive of 12% superannuation).
