Principal House Officer - Urology Department

About the role

QEII Jubilee Hospital in Brisbane is recruiting a Principal House Officer for its Urology Department as a temporary full-time position. The role offers specialist clinical experience and procedural skills under consultant supervision, within a supportive multidisciplinary team. It is a fixed-term temporary position starting as soon as possible, with a possible extension.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage patients, ensuring safe, high-quality clinical care.
• Coordinate patient treatment, monitor progress and support discharge planning.
• Take part in on-call duties and provide emergency medical care.
• Collaborate with consultants and multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.

Required profile

• Motivated medical practitioner with strong clinical skills and a passion for patient-centred care.
• At least two years of hospital-based clinical experience.
• Sound understanding of workplace health and safety, equal opportunity and anti-discrimination principles.

Required skills

• Sound clinical assessment and procedural skills, including managing emergency situations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families and healthcare teams.
• Ability to manage clinical responsibilities efficiently in a multidisciplinary team.
