Principal Electrical Engineer - HV / Primary

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer specialised in high‑voltage (HV) primary systems to support the design, development and delivery of substations and transmission infrastructure across Australia. The role contributes to critical infrastructure projects that enable the transition to clean energy, working within an EPC or D&C environment.

Key responsibilities

• Validate and resolve design conflicts, ensuring systems meet performance, reliability and regulatory standards.
• Lead the development of innovative, sustainable HV designs aligned with client and industry expectations.
• Apply RAM principles to enhance system maintainability, availability and reliability.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, protection and secondary systems engineers.
• Support projects from concept through to commissioning, delivering constructible solutions.

Required profile

• Skilled and motivated HV Primary Engineer with experience in designing HV primary systems for substations and transmission networks.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in EPC or D&C project delivery environments.
• Strong understanding of safety, environmental and regulatory standards.
