Pre Trade Trainer

About the role

The Pre Trade Trainer delivers hands‑on training, mentoring and assessment for apprentices, ensuring they acquire the skills needed for a successful trade career while meeting WesTrac’s safety and RTO standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe training environment and deliver scheduled training and assessments using approved materials.
• Complete training records, assessments and documentation accurately and on time.
• Develop and improve training resources and assessment tools in collaboration with subject‑matter experts.
• Mentor apprentices throughout their learning journey and manage reassessments, training holds and journal marking.

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or currently undertaking it with progress demonstrated).
• Relevant trade qualification as an Automotive Electrician or Mobile Plant Mechanic, or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience delivering VET‑level training and assessments to apprentices.
• Familiarity with servicing or operating equipment, preferably Caterpillar.
