Practice Manager

About the role

Key Health Medical Centres is looking for an experienced, people‑focused Practice Manager to lead the day‑to‑day operations of its St Leonards clinic. You will work closely with senior doctors, the Group Practice Manager and directors to ensure smooth, efficient, and high‑quality service for patients and clinicians.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the reception and nursing teams.
• Recruit, onboard, train and support new staff members.
• Oversee daily reception and clinic operations, including staff rostering.
• Coordinate induction of doctors and registrars.
• Act as primary contact for staff and patient queries or complaints.
• Monitor and drive practice KPIs, business performance and compliance.
• Review and improve systems and processes across the practice.
• Maintain high standards of patient service and clinical support.
• Manage risk, confidentiality and compliance requirements.
• Oversee medical software and electronic systems, including banking reconciliations and accounts reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 months experience as a Senior Medical Receptionist.
• Previous people‑management or team‑leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of medical practice operations and Medicare, private health, billing processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organisation and time‑management skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and solve problems quickly.
• Patient‑first approach with strong customer‑service orientation.

Required skills

• Experience with Best Practice or similar medical software.
