Porter – Rottnest Island Resort

About the role

Join the Discovery Parks team on Rottnest Island as a Porter, delivering seamless guest experiences from arrival to departure. You will work across several operational areas, supporting luggage transfers, guest transport, and general resort upkeep while enjoying the unique island environment.

Key responsibilities

• Transfer guest luggage between ferry arrivals, airport, and accommodation.
• Provide guest transport services and local information.
• Assist housekeeping and maintenance teams during peak periods.
• Maintain the presentation of park grounds, gardens, communal areas, BBQs, and amenities.
• Perform general maintenance tasks on park assets and facilities, including pool upkeep.
• Support daily operational requirements and ensure compliance with safety, brand, and WHS standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience in porter, grounds, maintenance or hospitality roles.
• Current valid driver’s licence (manual transmission essential).
• Physically fit with ability to lift up to 20 kg, kneel, squat and handle manual tasks.
• Positive, proactive attitude with strong communication and guest‑service focus.
• Flexibility to work a 7‑day roster across multiple departments.

Required skills

• Manual driving capability.
• Safe operation of powered hand tools and equipment.
• Basic pool maintenance (advantageous).
• Sound WHS awareness and safe manual‑handling practices.
