Policy and Research Manager

About the role

The Manager, Policy and Research will join Study Queensland, a key arm of Trade and Investment Queensland, to shape policy and provide market insights for the International Education and Training (IET) sector. Working closely with TIQ, government bodies, IET providers and industry stakeholders, you will lead research, analysis and advisory activities that support sustainable growth and student experience across Queensland.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct and coordinate research, data analysis and market intelligence on IET trends and emerging opportunities.
• Prepare briefing notes, reports and submissions for senior executives, ministers and external stakeholders on complex policy issues.
• Influence whole‑of‑government initiatives and contribute to the development of policy, legislation and system changes affecting the IET sector.
• Design, implement and maintain performance measurement and reporting frameworks for Study Queensland initiatives.
• Monitor sector developments, provide timely advice, and represent TIQ in relevant forums and meetings.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in policy development, research or analysis within the education, training or related public‑policy environment.
• Strong understanding of the IET sector, including its regulatory and funding frameworks.
• Proven ability to communicate complex information to senior government and industry audiences.
• Experience working collaboratively across government agencies, industry bodies and educational institutions.
