Plant Operator

About the role

Orica is hiring a Plant Operator for its Ulan Amex and Gasser manufacturing facility near Mudgee, NSW. You will help run the plant safely, efficiently and reliably, supporting production and delivery commitments while keeping high safety and environmental standards. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Key responsibilities

• Support the safe manufacturing of ANFO and Gasser products to meet customer and operational needs
• Carry out quality checks on raw materials and finished products
• Help maintain plant equipment and delivery vehicles
• Prepare accurate delivery documentation for customers
• Assist with receiving, storing and handling raw materials correctly
• Keep work areas and vehicles clean and well-presented
• Take part in pre-starts, toolbox talks and safety activities
• Work with the team to meet production and safety targets

Required profile

• Experience in explosives or manufacturing is helpful but not required
• Strong commitment to safety and following procedures
• Ability to learn technical processes such as quality checks and equipment operation
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Problem-solving skills, reliability and accountability
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with clear communication

• Basic mechanical aptitude, for example familiarity with tools, equipment or machinery
