Pharmacist Team Leader – Clinical Trials

About the role

The Pharmacist Team Leader – Clinical Trials will provide strategic and operational leadership for Clinical Trials Pharmacy services across Monash Health. This full‑time, 12‑month fixed‑term position works closely with the Assistant Deputy Director of Pharmacy and partners with investigators, sponsors and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compliant management of investigational medicines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day operations and set strategic direction for the Clinical Trials Pharmacy service.
• Provide expert review, costing and quotation for clinical trial pharmacy services.
• Ensure compliant handling, documentation and stock control of investigational medicines.
• Drive quality, safety and continuous improvement aligned with regulatory and organisational standards.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal research teams, external sponsors and clinical staff.
• Lead, support and develop a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with extensive experience in a hospital setting.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in pharmacy or clinical research environments.
• Strong understanding of clinical trial processes, governance and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
