Permanent Part-Time Personal Care Assistant

About the role

A caring, compassionate and experienced Permanent Part-Time Personal Care Assistant is sought to join the care team at Woodhaven, a residential aged care home in Lockhart, NSW. The role provides personal care, support and assistance to residents under the direction of the senior clinical team, promoting their wellbeing, dignity, comfort and independence. Applicants must be available to work the full rotating fortnightly roster.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to help residents maintain independence and dignity in daily living and lifestyle.
• Deliver meals and refreshments as required.
• Record observations on assessment charts and document exceptions to the care plan in progress notes, reporting them to the EN/RN.
• Check residents' daily menu requirements.
• Carry out duties allocated or delegated by the RN/EN, including general ward duties.
• Work collaboratively with the team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
• Complete other tasks within the employee's skills and scope of practice as directed.

Required profile

• Current National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire it).
• NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to acquire it).
• Relevant Certificate III qualification.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in residential aged care.
• Caring, respectful and person-centred approach to supporting older people.
• Reliability and commitment to the rotating fortnightly roster; availability for the full roster is essential.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Must meet Aged Care Worker Screening legislative requirements.
