Peer Worker or Mental Health Worker

About the role

Flourish Australia, a community mental health organisation, is looking for a Peer Worker or Mental Health Worker to join its team in Young. The position is casual, based in Young, and works Monday to Friday. It supports people accessing the organisation's services who have lived experience of mental health challenges, helping them maintain wellness and reach their goals. Peer Worker roles are for people willing to draw on their own lived experience of a mental health challenge and recovery.

Key responsibilities

• Hold recovery and social citizenship conversations with service users
• Listen to people and create opportunities and activities that match their interests and goals
• Guide and support each person in their recovery, strengths-based and person-led
• Help people access activities that promote independence
• Support skill development through self-directed learning, information, training and education

Required profile

• Certificate IV or above in a relevant field, or at least 2 years full-time experience in human services
• Lived experience of a mental health challenge and recovery (Peer Worker only)
• Alignment with Flourish Australia's values and commitment to recovery-based practice
• Current Australian driver's licence; private vehicle use may be required, with travel allowance

• Pay at Level 3 on the Enterprise Agreement (2018), $40.49-$43.42 per hour plus super and 25% casual loading
