Payroll Officer – End-to-End Payroll for Apprentices & Trainees

About the role

Join a purpose‑driven Group Training Organisation as a Payroll Officer responsible for the end‑to‑end payroll function for apprentices, trainees and employees. You will ensure every pay run is accurate, compliant and delivered on time while supporting a national training network.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and process wages and salaries for all staff, apprentices and trainees in line with awards and agreements.
• Maintain payroll records including pay rates, allowances, deductions, leave entitlements and overtime.
• Utilise and maintain payroll software, liaising with providers and staying updated on legislative changes.
• Produce and distribute Group Certificates/Income Statements and meet taxation reporting obligations.
• Reconcile superannuation, deductions and other payroll‑related obligations, ensuring timely payments to authorities.
• Administer workers compensation and rehabilitation records in compliance with legislation.
• Support payroll audits and ensure transactions align with internal controls.

Required profile

• Proven experience processing end‑to‑end payroll in a medium to large organisation.
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Awards, NES, superannuation and taxation.
• Highly organised, detail‑oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
• Professional communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Confidence using payroll systems and a drive to improve processes.
• Experience in apprenticeship, training, recruitment or workforce solutions is highly regarded.
