Payroll Manager – ANZ

About the role

Lush is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee the end‑to‑end payroll function for its Australian and New Zealand entities. Reporting to the General Manager, Finance, the role combines hands‑on payroll processing with people leadership, compliance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end payroll operations across ANZ, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant pay cycles.
• Coach, mentor and develop the payroll team, building capability and succession plans.
• Own payroll compliance and governance, managing legislative, regulatory and internal requirements.
• Maintain financial integrity by partnering with Finance on payroll reporting, reconciliations, journals and audits.
• Drive continuous improvement by reviewing processes and implementing more seamless payroll solutions.
• Build strong relationships with retail and manufacturing operations to align payroll services with business needs.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing end‑to‑end, multi‑entity payroll in a medium to large organisation.
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards and regulations (and New Zealand where applicable).
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team, providing clear guidance under pressure.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on accuracy and risk management.
• Ability to collaborate with finance and operational leaders to deliver reliable payroll outcomes.
