Pastoral Middle Leader (Years 7-9)

About the role

St Monica's College, a Catholic secondary day and boarding school for young women in Cairns, is recruiting a Pastoral Middle Leader for Years 7-9 on a fixed-term contract. The role supports the College's mission through pastoral leadership focused on quality education and student wellbeing, and includes a substantive teaching position. It is line managed by the Deputy Principal – Pastoral Care.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement pastoral practices that support students' wellbeing
• Ensure programs and processes encourage students to live according to Gospel values and manage behaviour contrary to them
• Coordinate staff efforts in students' holistic growth
• Build partnerships with parents and carers and with partners inside and outside the school
• Plan, prepare and deliver effective learning and teaching programs
• Contribute to school objectives, planning and a supportive school environment

Required profile

• Registered or eligible to be registered with the Queensland College of Teachers
• Fully supportive of the ethos of Catholic Education
• Commitment to creating and maintaining a child-safe organisation

What we offer

• Salary commensurate with experience: $86,600 to $140,998 FTE gross per annum, plus a Middle Leader Tier 2c allowance of $16,274 p.a.
