Part-Time Registered Nurse (Clinical Leadership)

About the role

Banksia Lodge, a residential aged care facility in Broulee on the NSW South Coast, is looking for a part-time Registered Nurse to join its Clinical Leadership team. The nurse delivers person-centred clinical care to residents, mentors and supports care staff, and liaises with doctors and other health professionals. The role is permanent with guaranteed hours, and requires the ability to work regular overnight shifts (22:15 - 07:00).

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents and coordinate clinical care delegated to care staff.
• Attend assessments, reviews and care plan documentation for residents, and review PRN medications.
• Liaise with doctors and other health professionals, and support visiting health professionals at the Doctors Clinic.
• Train care staff clinically and help improve clinical procedures in line with best practice.
• Monitor the care team, report to management and help maintain compliance with legislation, infection control and risk management.
• Respond to enquiries from residents, families and representatives, and uphold residents' rights.

Required profile

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse (AHPRA).
• Current police check clearance and a physical assessment.
• Experience in aged care or community nursing is desirable.
• A genuine passion for aged care and supporting older Australians.
• Ability to work regular overnight shifts (22:15 - 07:00); no visa sponsorship available.

Required skills

• Highly developed clinical nursing skills and care planning.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the aged care sector.
• Communication, teamwork, time management and customer service skills.
