Part-Time Cook/Chef I (Childcare Meals)

About the role

Busy Bees, a global early learning provider with over 130 centres across Australia, is seeking a passionate and organised part-time Chef for its Woolloongabba East centre. The role works approximately 30 hours per week and involves preparing fresh, nutritious meals for children aged 0-5 years.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals in line with Australian Dietary Guidelines
• Cater for allergies, intolerances and cultural dietary requirements
• Manage food ordering, budgeting and stock control
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen in line with Food Safety Standards
• Work with the Centre Leadership Team and contribute to children's learning about nutrition and healthy eating

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Chef or Cook (childcare experience highly regarded)
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
• Working with Children Check for QLD, or willingness to obtain it
• Commitment to child safety and alignment with Busy Bees values

Required skills

• Knowledge of safe food handling and kitchen hygiene
• Understanding of allergen management and child-safe practices
• Strong organisation and time management
