Parks and Gardens Worker

About the role

Join the Greenspace Services team to keep Blacktown’s parks, reserves and open spaces looking their best. This hands‑on, outdoor position involves routine maintenance of public gardens, sports fields and recreation areas, supporting a growing city and its community.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mowing, edging, planting, pruning and watering of garden beds.
• Control weeds, collect litter and maintain the overall cleanliness of council‑owned open spaces.
• Safely operate and maintain equipment such as mowers and whipper snippers.
• Identify and report hazards, follow safety procedures and adhere to work schedules.
• Collaborate with the team leader and crew to ensure facilities are presented to high standards.

Required profile

• Physical fitness for outdoor, manual work.
• Team‑oriented attitude with a commitment to quality outcomes.
• Willingness to follow safety protocols and report hazards.
• Entry‑level candidates who enjoy working outdoors are encouraged to apply.
