Parish Leadership Coach

About the role

The Archdiocesan Ministries of the Archdiocese of Brisbane is seeking a dynamic, visionary leader to join its Parish Leadership team. In this role you will coach parishes to become vibrant, missionary discipleship communities, guided by the spirit of Pope Francis’ Evangelii Gaudium.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with mission‑oriented parishes to develop strategic plans that foster growth and discipleship.
• Coach parish priests and leaders in implementing those plans, aligning decisions with mission, vision and values.
• Build and sustain a culture of leadership development, focusing on succession planning and growth within parishes.
• Provide ongoing formation and strategic guidance to Parish Pastoral Councils and Leadership Teams.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clergy and parish leaders to ensure alignment with the Archdiocese’s mission and values.

Required profile

• Passionate, mission‑driven leader committed to Catholic teachings.
• Significant experience in church leadership and strategic planning.
• Heart for evangelisation and a desire to see parishes thrive as centres of missionary discipleship.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends or evenings as parish needs dictate.

Required skills

• Recognised coaching certification or completion of a recognised coaching course.
• In‑depth knowledge of ecclesial structures and parish dynamics.
• Proven ability to facilitate strategic planning and leadership development.
