Paramedic (Road Ambulance) - Innamincka

About the role

The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Australia / Northern Territory (RFDS SA/NT) is recruiting a casual paramedic for a road ambulance position in Innamincka, South Australia. Reporting to the Operations Manager, Ambulance Services, the paramedic initiates emergency response, resuscitation and stabilisation of critically ill or injured patients using emergency medical guidelines and critical care within scope. The roster is 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, with travel from Adelaide included.

Key responsibilities

• Provide emergency care and specialised transport for patients, using some specialised ambulance equipment and clinical procedures
• Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, health professionals, the public and other emergency service providers
• Carry out thorough clinical assessments to identify illness or injury and plan and start appropriate patient management

Required profile

• Registration (or eligibility for registration) as a Paramedic with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency / Paramedicine Board of Australia
• Bachelor's degree in science (Paramedicine) or equivalent
• At least 3 years' experience as a paramedic in a state or territory emergency ambulance service
• Unrestricted South Australian driver's licence
• Available as soon as possible and until the end of 2027

Required skills

• Confidence in making decisions on patient assessment, care and interventions before handover and during transport
• Able to follow procedures and guidelines in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment
• Detail-oriented with demonstrated computer literacy
