Paramedic ESO (FIFO)

About the role

MSS Security is recruiting a Paramedic ESO for its site emergency response team in a mining environment. The paramedic provides first response to all incidents and supports site training and HSE activities. The roster is 7 days on / 7 days off with day and night rotations, and the position is based in Moranbah, Queensland, and is a FIFO role for those who do not live locally.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first response to medical emergencies and injuries, trauma and workplace incidents, cardiac or respiratory emergencies, vehicle and machinery incidents, fire and rescue situations (including confined space and working at heights), hazardous material or chemical incidents, emergency evacuations and site incidents.
• Treat patients and coordinate with external emergency services.
• Support site training and HSE activities.

Required profile

• Registered medical professional (paramedic or nurse) under the EAHPRA.
• Coal Board Medical (Rescue).
• Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue.
• HLTPAT005 course in drug and alcohol testing.
• Open C class driver's licence.

• Immunisations: tetanus, hepatitis A and B.
• PUAFIR207: operate breathing apparatus open circuit.
• PUAFIR316: identify, detect and monitor hazardous materials at an incident.
• PUAFIR324: render hazardous materials incidents safe.
• PUASAR24: undertake road crash rescue.
• PUASAR032: undertake vertical rescue.
• PUASAR025: undertake confined space rescue.
• RIIERR201: conduct fire team operations.
• RIIERR302: respond to local emergencies and incidents.
