Paralegal (Casual) – Melbourne

About the role
We are looking for law students with prior paralegal experience to join our Melbourne team on a casual basis. The role offers exposure to a wide range of legal practice areas and the chance to develop practical skills while supporting senior counsel.
Key responsibilities
- Organise and prepare documents, briefs, court books, and bundles for counsel, experts, mediation, and trials.
- Draft, proofread, and file legal letters, court documents, and submissions.
- Conduct legal, procedural, and case‑law research to support matters and court proceedings.
- Communicate with courts, counsel, opposing parties, and third parties as required.
- Review, summarise, index, and transcribe evidence, discovered documents and subpoena materials.
- Attend court hearings, take notes, appear in minor matters, and assist with searches and discovery.
Required profile
- Currently studying an LLB or JD.
- Prior paralegal experience is required.
- Strong organisational and time‑management abilities with the capacity to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.
