Operations Manager – Darwin Terminal

About the role

Vopak Terminals Darwin is seeking an Operations Manager to lead safe and reliable day‑to‑day operations of its major hazard facility terminal. You will supervise operators, ensure product transfers meet global safety and efficiency standards, and drive continuous improvement across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct safety walk‑arounds and technical inspections, turning observations into corrective actions.
• Partner with technical owners to develop and maintain Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
• Champion the Vopak Integrated Management System, using compliance software and automated data tools to keep registers error‑free.
• Prepare and execute audit plans, update SHEQ procedures, and lead continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Facilitate WHSE committee workshops, emergency response simulations, and support injury recovery pathways.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of operational experience in health, safety and environment within a major hazard facility or similar high‑risk asset.
• Proven team‑management experience, preferably in petrochemical, bulk liquid fuel storage, or related industries.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Operations Management.
• Self‑starter with strong data‑tracking ability and composure in complex terminal scenarios.
