Operations Manager - Bus Fleet

About the role

Broome Transit is looking for a proactive, energetic and customer-focused Operations Manager to support the current supervisor team in coordinating bus operations, with a focus on FIFO transfers for the mining industry and charter operations. The role works closely with the Managing Director in a team approach. Full operations training is provided.

Hours are 38 per week plus reasonable additional hours needed for the job, generally during ordinary business hours including unpaid meal breaks. Extra hours and travel depend on client visitation times; public holiday and weekend work is paid under the Toil policy.

Key responsibilities

• Run bus operations efficiently, keeping service, safety and cost efficiency at a high level
• Run the driver induction programme and on-road training, including test drives for new applicants
• Supervise staff, including rostering, driver communications and coordination of training to meet standards
• Handle charter allocations, fleet and staff scheduling
• Provide relief supervision of charter and contract services operations
• Take rotating after-hours on-call duties

Required profile

• Experience in fleet operations
• Knowledge of applicable legislation and standards
• MR-HR licence and Drivers Accreditation Certificate

• Strong organisation and effective scheduling, able to prioritise unexpected changes
• Clear communication and direction, building positive working relationships
• Customer service skills and a calm, professional attitude
