Offsider / Runner - Sensitive Freight

About the role

A specialist freight company serving medical, healthcare, IT, scientific and commercial printing industries is looking for a reliable, physically fit and motivated Offsider / Runner to join its Altona team immediately. You will partner with experienced drivers to deliver and install sensitive freight across Victoria. Because the goods are highly specialised equipment such as medical devices and large IT infrastructure, the role calls for care, precision and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the driver by navigating routes, managing communications and helping with vehicle parking and site access.
• Load, unload, pack and unpack high-value and sensitive equipment safely.
• Help move equipment into commercial premises, hospitals and laboratories, using equipment such as stair climbers and pallet jacks.
• Act as the company's face on site, giving polite and professional service to clients.
• Follow all OHS/WHS site requirements and internal safety protocols.

Required profile

• Ready to start immediately; must be punctual for a strict 6:00 AM start at the Altona depot.
• Physically fit, able to lift and move heavy or awkward freight safely.
• Clear communication skills and a polite manner for client-facing work.
• Reliable transport to Altona and the ability to pass a National Police Check.
• Previous experience in removals, sensitive freight or as a truck offsider is highly regarded, though a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are most important.

What we offer

• $35.00 per hour.
• Stable hours with a premium national company.
• On-the-job training in sensitive freight handling and specialised equipment.
• A professional, supportive team environment.
