Occupational Therapist

About the role

Silverchain is hiring an Occupational Therapist to join its Multidisciplinary Care team in Bunbury and surrounding areas. You will work alongside occupational therapists, physiotherapists, nurses, podiatrists and therapy assistants, creating and overseeing reablement programmes that help clients re-engage in the community. The role covers Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm, and a 7 or 8 day fortnight may be considered.

Key responsibilities

• Create and oversee reablement programmes for clients
• Help clients achieve their own goals and return to their best lives
• Provide education, support and coaching to clients, carers and direct care staff
• Plan and prioritise work independently while contributing to team and organisational objectives
• Implement care plans through problem-solving, negotiation and influencing

Required profile

• Allied health qualification with demonstrated experience in the field
• Knowledge of appropriate treatment and assessment methods
• Good verbal, written and listening communication and interpersonal skills
• Time management, organisational and computer literacy skills (word processing, spreadsheets, calendar software)
• Previous experience in a community or residential aged care setting
• Current Senior First Aid certificate is desirable
