Occupational Therapist – Flexible Community Role

About the role

Ability Action Australia, a national NDIS provider, is recruiting an Occupational Therapist for a flexible community role in the Ballina, Byron and Lismore regions. The home hub is based in Ashmore, Queensland, and the position is open to full-time or part-time therapists who enjoy tailoring their caseload.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload aligned with your areas of interest
• Conduct clinical assessments of emotional, psychological, cognitive, developmental and physical functions
• Develop individualised, evidence-based therapy goals and interventions
• Advise on environmental modifications for homes, schools, workplaces and residential settings
• Recommend and facilitate assistive technology to promote independence
• Stay compliant with current legislation and NDIS guidelines
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Proactive, client-centred approach with a passion for the disability and community sector
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• An interest in paediatrics, complex needs or a preferred caseload area
