Occupational Therapist - Child and Youth Mental Health

About the role

Darling Downs Health is hiring an Occupational Therapist in Toowoomba to provide frontline support for children, young people and their families facing complex mental health challenges. The role works within a supportive multidisciplinary team to deliver care, build community connections and grow clinical expertise in a regional health service.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver holistic assessments, treatment and care planning for young people with complex mental health needs
• Work with families, carers and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Share specialist knowledge and guide collaboration across health and community services
• Contribute to quality improvement, education and service development initiatives

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration
• Experience delivering evidence-based occupational therapy services, ideally in mental health settings
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills for multidisciplinary practice
• Able to manage competing priorities while improving service quality
• Experience in child and youth mental health and/or supporting the development of other clinicians is a plus
