Occupational Nurse (Limited Tenure)

About the role

Nyrstar is seeking an Occupational Nurse to support the health and safety of its Port Pirie site. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive medical assessments, lead‑blood monitoring and health surveillance in a high‑risk industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑employment, periodic and post‑incident medical examinations for site personnel.
• Administer and evaluate lead‑in‑blood testing, ensuring compliance with regulatory limits.
• Implement and manage health surveillance programmes to identify and mitigate occupational risks.
• Maintain accurate medical records, uphold privacy standards and stay current with occupational health legislation.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor of Nursing (required).
• Minimum 1 year experience as an Enrolled or Registered Nurse.
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
