Occupational Health Nurse

About the role

Join Northern Star Resources as an Occupational Health Nurse supporting the Thunderbox and Carosue Dam mining sites. This permanent, full‑time position operates on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth and focuses on the health and wellbeing of site‑based personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Provide onsite medical care, emergency response, and injury management, including night‑shift support and pre‑employment medicals.
• Deliver training and coaching to site staff and Emergency Response Teams.
• Support occupational health programmes such as fit testing, audiometry, vaccinations, exposure monitoring, and silica/heavy‑metal testing.
• Ensure compliance with health, hygiene, and statutory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement, promote safe work practices and company standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to standardise processes, procedures, and equipment.
• Assist with audits, reporting, and data analysis to improve health outcomes.
• Use INX systems for accurate data entry and reporting.
• Manage onsite medical facilities, assets, and compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent with unrestricted AHPRA registration.
• Current ALS1 and Drug & Alcohol certification.
• 3+ years experience in rural or remote healthcare, preferably within mining.
• Strong clinical reasoning, diagnostic skills, and experience with workers’ compensation and injury management.
