Nurse Practitioner Candidate – General Medicine

About the role

Join the General Medicine team at Rockhampton Hospital to develop expert knowledge, complex decision‑making skills and clinical competencies while working towards Nurse Practitioner endorsement. You will assess, diagnose, treat and manage patients across a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge planning for patients of varying complexity.
• Lead and mentor junior staff, deliver education, and model high standards of practice across the multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in research, audit, data analysis and quality‑improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with current NMBA/AHPRA registration, currently studying an NMBA‑approved Master of Nurse Practitioner.
• Post‑graduate clinical qualifications at AQF Level 8 with strong clinical knowledge, judgement and problem‑solving abilities.
• Demonstrated commitment to evidence‑based practice, quality improvement and lifelong learning.

• Total remuneration up to $174,208 p.a., including an hourly rate of $70.92‑$77.00 and 12.75% employer superannuation.
