Nurse Manager - General Practice

About the role

Gladstone GP Superclinic, an established primary healthcare practice in Gladstone, Queensland, is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse with strong leadership skills to lead its nursing team. You will lead and support about 10 nurses, coordinate daily nursing operations and help maintain safe, patient-focused care. The role sits within a team that values collaboration and continuous improvement, with support from the AusDocs Group Nurse Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and support the nursing team
• Coordinate daily nursing operations, rostering and workforce planning
• Oversee nursing support for chronic condition management, including GP Chronic Condition Management Plans
• Maintain clinical governance and support accreditation requirements
• Oversee infection prevention and control, risk management and patient safety processes
• Identify opportunities to improve patient care and nursing workflows
• Collaborate with the wider clinical team

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Previous experience in a senior nursing or leadership role
• Strong knowledge of general practice nursing and chronic condition management
• Ability to coordinate priorities in a busy clinical environment
• Understanding of clinical governance, accreditation and quality improvement

Required skills

• Current CPR certification
• Strong communication, mentoring and relationship-building skills
