Nurse Educator (Banana Region)

About the role

Queensland Health is recruiting a Nurse Educator for the Banana region, based at Biloela Hospital. The role supports and empowers rural nursing teams across Central Queensland to deliver excellent patient care. It sits within the Education and Research Unit, which offers education, professional development and clinical practice improvement initiatives, and is open until October 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deliver and evaluate nursing education programs tailored to the needs of rural teams.
• Manage learning resources and provide expert support to address the educational needs of nursing staff.
• Mentor staff, share clinical expertise and champion best practice.
• Build a culture of learning that encourages curiosity, professional growth and confident, high-quality patient care.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent), current AHPRA registration and practising certificate.
• Postgraduate qualification at AQF Level 8 highly regarded, or willingness to work towards one.
• Strong clinical experience, ideally in rural or Emergency Department settings.
• Experience developing, delivering and evaluating education programs, supporting lifelong learning and promoting evidence-based practice.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills, able to build relationships and support multidisciplinary teams.
