Network & Systems Administrator

About the role

We are looking for a tech‑savvy problem solver to own end‑to‑end IT support for our global offices. Based in Sydney, you will be the senior escalation point, ensuring our infrastructure runs smoothly while delivering cost‑effective, open‑source solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide L1‑L3 support across Sydney HQ and remote offices (Manila, London, Vancouver, San Francisco) as the primary escalation point.
• Run monitoring and alerting, respond to incidents, and maintain service health across multi‑site, multi‑timezone environments.
• Manage backups and recovery for Synology NAS, VM images, and off‑site/cloud copies.
• Administer Google Workspace (users, groups, Shared Drives, licensing, security) using GAM and the admin console.
• Maintain office network infrastructure: OPNsense/pfSense firewalls (HA/CARP), IPsec VPNs, VLANs, and UniFi wireless.
• Identify gaps, scope fixes, and implement solutions independently, favouring open‑source and scripting.
• Keep asset inventory up‑to‑date and produce clear documentation for cross‑departmental use.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with a hands‑on approach to troubleshooting.
• Ability to work autonomously and prioritize issues across different time zones.
• Experience delivering practical, cost‑effective fixes using open‑source tools.
• Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Google Workspace administration (including GAM).
• OPNsense and pfSense firewall configuration (HA/CARP).
• IPsec VPN setup and management.
• VLAN design and implementation.
• UniFi wireless network management.
• Synology NAS administration and VM backup solutions.
• Scripting (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) for automation.
• Monitoring and alerting tools (generic experience).
