Navy Doctor – Medical Officer with Travel Opportunities

About the role

As a Doctor in the Royal Australian Navy you will deliver comprehensive medical care to Navy personnel and supporting communities, both at sea and on shore. You will work in modern, fully equipped facilities alongside trained nursing, administrative and allied health staff, gaining unique experience in diverse environments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide primary and emergency medical care to service members and dependents.
• Conduct health assessments, preventive health programs and medical evacuations.
• Collaborate with nursing and allied health teams to deliver integrated care.
• Support community health initiatives during deployments and humanitarian missions.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with AHPRA standards.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship and minimum age of 17 at appointment.
• Eligibility for Defence University Sponsorship or existing Bachelor of Medicine with AHPRA registration.
• Willingness to undertake initial military and employment training.
• Commitment to serve as a commissioned officer upon graduation.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and emergency medicine competence.
• Ability to operate in remote and maritime environments.
