National Procurement Manager

About the role

Freo Group is seeking an experienced, commercially focused National Procurement Manager to lead its procurement function across Australia. Based at the Hope Valley corporate office, you will develop and execute strategies that drive cost savings, enhance supply‑chain resilience and ensure strong contract governance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a national procurement strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Establish procurement policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
• Identify and deliver sustainable cost‑saving initiatives.
• Manage high‑value supplier contracts and strategic sourcing projects.
• Lead supplier performance monitoring and relationship management.
• Partner with Operations, Fleet, Maintenance, Commercial, Finance, HSE and regional leadership to align procurement solutions with operational and safety requirements.
• Provide analytical, financial and reporting insights to support decision‑making.

Required profile

• A degree in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, Procurement or a related discipline.
• Professional procurement qualification (e.g., CIPS) – highly regarded.
• 5–10 years of procurement, sourcing, supply‑chain or commercial management experience.
• Proven experience leading procurement functions in a multi‑site operational environment.
• Strong commercial negotiation and contract management capability.
• Advanced analytical, financial and reporting capability.
• Experience in heavy industry, mining services, transport, engineering or industrial services is desirable.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
• Commitment to safety, ethical procurement practices and continuous improvement.
