Multi‑Skilled Operator

About the role

Join Visy’s glass manufacturing team as a Multi‑Skilled Operator. Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will help keep production lines running smoothly on a rotating shift roster while working with advanced glass‑making technology.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the condition of furnaces, batch‑house equipment and SCADA systems.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of operational issues.
• Oversee glass bottle production in forming, inspecting and packaging departments.
• Conduct quality inspection checks on newly formed bottles.
• Operate computer production systems and interfaces.
• Assist with job changes and related tasks.
• Support general mechanical maintenance and resolve minor mechanical problems.
• Promote a safe working environment for yourself and the team.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably glass.
• Strong mechanical aptitude; trade background is desirable but not mandatory.
• Ability to work in a hot, dusty and loud environment.
• Good communication skills, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
