Motion Designer (Social Content)

About the role

Canva is looking for a Motion Designer focused on social content to create high‑quality video assets, animation sequences, transitions and visual effects for its content library. You will help millions of users tell better stories by providing the raw motion elements that power templates, storyboards, learning content and animated scenes.

Key responsibilities

• Design and animate video assets, motion graphics, transitions, characters and storytelling elements.
• Create looping animations, expressive scenes and narrative‑driven sequences.
• Collaborate with template designers to ensure seamless integration of assets into user workflows.
• Work with product teams to understand new motion features and build demonstrative assets.
• Maintain high craft standards while producing content at scale.
• Participate in creative reviews, asset planning and experimentation cycles.
• Stay up‑to‑date with animation trends, editing styles and visual storytelling techniques.

Required profile

• Passionate about motion design, animation timing, pacing and visual storytelling.
• Comfortable working across multiple visual styles.
• Motivated to simplify professional‑level motion for everyday users.
• Curious about evolving motion design, film language and mixed‑media visuals.
• Collaborative, autonomous and able to thrive in fast‑paced content production environments.
