Mining Engineer - Open-Cut Coal Mine

About the role

Alchemy Recruitment Consulting is partnering with a leading mining operation to source a Mining Engineer for its open-cut coal mine in Brisbane. The role contributes to mine planning, production performance and operational outcomes across a large-scale operation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver short-term mine plans and schedules.
• Review open-cut mining methods and equipment to identify ways to improve operational performance.
• Communicate mining plans to operational personnel and monitor compliance against schedules.
• Provide technical advice on mine planning, mining methodologies and operational matters.
• Support production capture, reporting and the preparation of monthly progress claims.
• Build strong working relationships with operations teams, clients and key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Drill and Blast Engineers, Geologists, Surveyors and other technical specialists.
• Ensure compliance with site safety, health, environmental and statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an open-cut coal mining operation.
• Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent, preferably in Mining.
• Current Standard 11 and current Queensland Coal Board medical.
• Full work rights in Australia.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of Vulcan, Deswik, Spry or equivalent mine planning software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong communication skills and ability to give clear technical advice.
